The Ministry of Health and Welfare (Minister Park Neung-hoo) announced that it will operate an intensive application period for customized elderly care services from Monday, June 8 to Tuesday, June 30.
The customized elderly care service, which has been implemented since January of this year, is an integration and reorganization of existing elderly care services to provide a variety of services tailored to the needs of the elderly. This intensive application period is operated to actively identify vulnerable seniors and provide expanded care services in a situation where the use of facilities such as senior welfare facilities and senior centers is restricted due to COVID-19, deepening social disconnection and loneliness among seniors.
Seniors who wish to use customized care services for the elderly can apply through the community center of each town, town or village.
Those eligible to apply for customized care services for the elderly are those who are 65 years of age or older, recipients of the national basic livelihood security, the next lower class, or basic pension recipients and do not qualify for similar overlapping projects*. After applying for customized care services for the elderly, the selection of recipients is determined through a service target selection survey by the implementing agency and city/county/district approval.
A social worker comprehensively consults and investigates the applicant’s level of difficulty in social relationships and physical activities, cognitive decline, or depression, and is selected if it is determined that the applicant has difficulty in independent daily life.
If you are selected as a target, you can receive various services in the fields of safety support, social participation, life education, and daily life directly or in conjunction with the service provision plan.

In addition, we have identified elderly people in blind spots, such as those under self-quarantine and those who do not use facilities such as senior welfare centers and senior centers, and provided essential services such as checking on their well-being and linking them with donations.
