There is a way to use Paint to reduce picture file size. Because high-quality photos or pictures are large in size, most website servers have capacity limits. Especially in the case of resume photos, it is necessary to reduce the size of the scanned photo in order to attach it.
In this case, the easiest way is to use Paint. Even if you install another image program, you can reduce the size of pictures and photos by reducing the size of the photos or converting png files to jpg.
Paint is installed by default in Windows, and simple tasks can be done with Paint. If you want to reduce the capacity of the photo without reducing its size using another program or website, the quality of the photo may deteriorate.
Reduce Paint photo size
Reduce photo size
edit
First, right-click the picture or photo file you want to reduce the size of and click Edit to launch Paint.
resize
When I opened the photo in Paint, I saw that it was so high resolution that it overflowed the monitor. Now let’s first adjust the size of the photo to reduce its size. Click Resize on the top ribbon menu.
percentage
There are two ways to reduce photo size in Paint: by reducing the photo size by percentage, or by reducing the photo size by pixel size. Percentage is literally a way to reduce the picture size by percentage, and pixel is a way to directly specify the picture size.
Resize and Skew
If you want to roughly reduce the size to half, enter 50 in the percentage field and click OK. On the other hand, if you have a desired size, you can uncheck Maintain Aspect Ratio in Pixels and specify the size yourself.
JPEG conversion
Save As
Once you have reduced the size of the picture or photo, you must finally save it. Select Save As and then click the JPEG picture to save it.
If you just save it, you won’t be able to restore the original, so if you want to get a reduced-sized photo while retaining the original, be sure to select Save As.
After reducing the size of the picture in Paint
When I reduced the size of the photo using Paint and saved it as jpg when comparing the files, I was able to see that the size of the original png 21.1mb image file was reduced to 213kb jpg.
