There are three ways to obtain certification.

The level 2 social worker certification includes various subjects related to social welfare work. It consists of a total of 10 subjects, which total 30 credits. These subjects are required to be completed in order to obtain a level 2 social worker qualification. 
Required subjects include ‘Introduction to Social Welfare’, ‘Social Welfare Legislation and Practice’, ‘Social Welfare Practice Technology Theory’, ‘Social Welfare Practice Theory’, ‘Social Welfare Policy Theory’, ‘Social Welfare Research Theory’, ‘Social Welfare Administration Theory’, and ‘Social Welfare Research Theory’. Includes ‘Social Welfare Field Training’, ‘Human Behavior and Social Environment’, and ‘Community Welfare Theory’. These subjects must be completed through any educational institution to obtain a level 2 social worker qualification.

The training costs for obtaining a level 2 social worker certification are as follows. It may vary depending on the company. Additionally, in some educational institutions, you can receive training through tomorrow’s learning card, so please consider this as well.
If you are a high school graduate, you will need to additionally complete the 10 major and liberal arts courses mentioned above, which will incur additional costs. Please note that the above amount may vary depending on the company, so please use it as a reference only.

The Credit Bank System is a lifelong education system that anyone who has graduated from high school or higher can participate. This system has a similar concept, and those who have passed the qualification exam can also participate. This is also widely used by high school graduates and graduates of other majors. If you acquire a level 2 social worker certification through the Credit Bank System, you can obtain a degree equivalent to that of a regular university, and many people are using it because the cost and acquisition period can be reduced by more than half. The Credit Bank System course proceeds similarly to the academic year course. One semester generally consists of 15 weeks of courses, with the number of weeks being the same as at regular universities.

You can apply on the website of the National Lifelong Education Promotion Agency (https://www.cb.or.kr/creditbank/base/nMain.do).  After entering, click “Application for Credit Recognition – Application Guide” on the top menu to apply among three options: online application, in-person application, and group application at an education and training institution.

Issuance of social worker level 2 certification is possible from the Korean Association of Social Workers. You must fill out the application form online, print it out, and send it to the association along with the required documents. The issuance fee can be deposited into the association’s account. The issuance fee is 10,000 won and the annual fee is 50,000 won.

You must register your photo to be printed on your social worker certificate. The photo to be registered must be a natural-colored frontal photo of the upper body (3.5 cm x 4.5 cm) without a hat, and must have been taken within 6 months. Please prepare the relevant image files during the preparation process. 
To become certified as a social worker, you must complete required and elective courses regardless of your major at a university or college. Therefore, you must submit a transcript confirming the courses you completed at school.
