Check your comprehensive income tax refund and refund date (Sontax, Hometax) 종소세환급 방법
May is Comprehensive Income Tax Reporting Month. If you have interest, dividends, business, work, pensions, or other income last year, you are obligated to report it. Usually, you will receive a notice by mobile or mail in early May, and even if you did not receive it, you will be subject to the report. In this case, you must proceed with the report and tax payment by the end of May. This year, due to the influence of COVID-19, the payment period has been temporarily postponed until the end of August, so it will be helpful to refer to it.
If you are not a business operator, you may file a comprehensive income tax report yourself. In particular, if the amount of income is not large, such as freelancers, you will report directly, but you can report it at the tax office or Hometax. Until last year, if you were not familiar with the reporting method, you could visit the tax office and report with help, but this year, Hometax encourages you to refrain from visiting due to the impact of COVID-19.
In the online reporting method, there is a method of reporting with a Sontax other than Hometax, but only certain types of F and G types are available for Sontax reporting.
What if the last calculated tax amount was calculated as negative (-) when the report was completed after a difficult procedure?
You’re not paying taxes, you’re getting a refund. Because you paid more and more taxes than you earned last year, the refund will be paid within a month or two after you file your tax return.
You can check the refund and refund date directly on Hometax or Sontax. The exact refund and refund date can only be inquired after a certain period of time because it requires a time-based process to check the incorrectly reported amount. The name of “Sontax” may be unfamiliar, but the function available on Hometax as a mobile app operated by the National Tax Service is also available on the app. In addition, once registered as a joint certificate, it has the advantage of being easy to use through fingerprint recognition.
In this article, we will learn how to check your refund at Sontax and Hometax, and how to set up your first fingerprint registration login when using Sontax.
