Sokcho is a great travel destination for all four seasons. Since the sea and mountains are together, even if there is someone who likes one side, it is easy to coordinate tastes, and there are many delicious restaurants that operate with local ingredients, so it is also great for enjoying food. It is a place that has its own charm in spring, summer, and fall, and even in winter, when the weather gets cold, you can enjoy the snowy scenery. I have compiled a list of places to visit in Sokcho.

Seoraksan Mountain is Natural Monument No. 171 and a UNESCO-designated Biosphere Reserve. It is a place that boasts beautiful nature and scenery. While Inner Seoraksan Mountain has a gentle slope and thick soil layer, so it is covered with forests, Outer Seoraksan Mountain has a steep slope and is often visited by visitors. Campers also spend leisurely time at the campsite. Seoraksan National Park

Daepo Port is the representative port of Sokcho, and as Seoraksan Mountain and the East Sea became tourist destinations, it became a travel destination frequently visited by tourists. Since flounder, halibut, and yellowtail are caught in large quantities in the nearby sea, there are many raw fish restaurants and dried fish stores that use these as their main ingredients. It is also fun to look around the street vendors selling shrimp or squid sundae on the side road.

If you go to the Sokcho Lighthouse Observatory, you can see the refreshing scenery of Sokcho beyond the open field of vision. The experience of taking in the beautiful Seoraksan Mountain and the sea at a glance is not easy to do anywhere, so I recommend you try it at least once. If you like walking, it is also good to slowly climb up through the Sokcho side road. Sokcho Lighthouse Observatory

This fish market, which opened as a central market in the form of a mixed-use complex, boasts a fairly large scale. It has one underground floor and two above-ground floors. The underground floor is used for seafood sales and raw fish restaurants, and the above-ground floor is used for food and clothing stores. Be sure to try the food that you can only taste in Sokcho, such as Sokcho octopus soup, Sokcho wine bread, and Abai squid bread.

A lake in the outskirts of Sokcho, it is said that the immortal Yeongrang played there because of its beautiful scenery. While looking around the quaint pavilion Yeongrangjeong, the narrow path next to Yeongrangjeong, and the majestic Beombawi Rock, you will feel like your complicated mind is being organized as you stay at Yeongrangho, where you can feel the majestic energy.

Yeonggeumjeong, located at the end of Dongmyeong Port, has lost its original form, but only the signboard and traces of Yeonggeumjeong remain. People come to experience it because they say that when waves come in between the rocks in front of them, they hear the sound of a geomungo. I recommend that you try the new feeling of looking at the sea from the pavilion on the sea.

The Oeongchi Coast area was reopened in 2018 and is the second exploration trail created on the east coast. It is a seaside promenade along Sokcho Beach and connects to Oeong Port, so it is the perfect place for those who want to take a quiet walk along the coast of Sokcho. It would be nice to walk this quiet promenade in the morning, where only the sound of the strong waves remains.
