남양주 가볼만한곳Namyangju, near Seoul, is a great day trip destination near Seoul, with a variety of things to see, from driving courses to great restaurants and large cafes where you can enjoy the natural scenery. May, the beginning of spring, is a great season for outdoor activities thanks to the various flower festivals and dazzling weather.
So today, I will introduce places to visit in Namyangju that are good for this season. I have collected only places that are easy to visit for a day trip, so why not visit this weekend?
The Water Garden, a waterside ecological park created by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport as part of the Han River Restoration Project, is a great place to visit in Namyangju on weekends in May, where many people visit to enjoy a picnic under the warm sunlight.
In particular, from the end of May to June, when poppies bloom, many people visit to see the flowers in early summer. The poppies have a bright color that shines brightly in the sunlight, making it a great place to enjoy healing and take photos of your life.
Namyangju Hanok Bakery Cafe Godang is a Namyangju cafe where you can feel both tranquility and leisure in the neat scenery of a Hanok that you can see as soon as you enter the entrance. It is not a large river view cafe with a view of the Bukhangang River, but it is a place where you can feel at ease in a neat Hanok.
Namyangju Godang allows one team to use a small room as if it were a private house, so you can enjoy the atmosphere of a Hanok. In addition to the bakery, it also offers Korean desserts that go well with Hanok, such as sirutteok, so it is a Namyangju cafe that is good to visit with your parents during Family Month.
Neungnae Station in Joan-myeon, Namyangju, which is now a closed station, has a retro feel with its faded signboard and lush grass covering the wall, creating an unusual appearance like a movie set, and has recently become famous as a place for couples to take snapshots. As a station with a long history, there are unused railroad tracks and wooden mailboxes, and the inside of the station has been remodeled into an exhibition hall with black-and-white photos and props from the 80s and 90s, making you feel as if you have come back in a time machine.
There is also a place near Neungnae Station where you can rent a bicycle, so if you are traveling by foot, you can rent a bicycle and tour the area. It is a recommended place to visit in Namyangju.
Gwangneung Forest Trail is a 3km walking trail that connects the main gate of the National Arboretum to the entrance of Bongseonsa Temple. It is made up of 10 themes and shows its beauty in each season, making it a place to visit in Namyangju that many people visit in all four seasons.
Especially in May, you can walk along the forest trail and look at the green scenery, or you can enjoy nature comfortably by taking a rest with the benches and rest areas placed here and there. We hope you enjoy a leisurely walk under the shade of the trees while listening to the sound of the water flowing coolly beside you.
Namyangju Majae Village is said to be the hometown of Dasan Jeong Yak-yong, a Silhak scholar from the Joseon Dynasty, whom we all know well. Jeong Yak-yong’s historical site includes his birthplace and tomb, as well as the Dasan Cultural Center, Dasan Memorial Hall, and Silhak Museum, making it a great place to visit in Namyangju with children. In particular, books written by Jeong Yak-yong and devices he invented are on display around the road to the historical site, and the Silhak Museum is rich in audiovisual materials such as touchscreens and headphones with voice explanations, making it an easy and fun place to enjoy, so we recommend this Namyangju travel course.
