What are the benefits of the Toss Youth Card and how to use it?
Toss money recharge, transportation card, issuance procedure
The Toss Youth Card is a rechargeable child/youth card that can be issued to members who have signed up for Toss from the age of 7 to 16 as of the issuance date. (Prepaid Rechargeable Card)
You can charge ‘Toss Money’ in the Toss app in advance and pay within the balance.
In other words, if you charge the Toss Money and then pay with the Toss You Card, the payment is made within the Toss Money balance.
Of course, if the amount you want to pay is larger than your Toss Money balance, you will not be able to pay.
Above all, the biggest feature of the TOSS Youth Card is that it can be issued from the age of 7 and can be used even by the first graders of elementary school (However, the first graders of elementary school turn 7 years old after their birthday, so it can be issued from that time)
■ Notes for reference
Currently, the age of issuance of ‘youth check cards’ (= check cards for minors) released by various credit card companies is from 12 years old or older or 14 years old or older, whereas Toss Youth Card can be issued from 7 years old or older. significantly lower than before 토스유스카드
▣ A few things to know 좋은뉴스
① There is no annual fee or initial issuance fee, but a reissuance fee of 4,000 won in case of loss
② The age of issue is from 7 to 16 years old, but once issued, it can be used until the age of 19
③ The transportation card function of the Youth Card is a prepaid transportation card and must be charged separately.
④ Payment is possible only at domestic affiliates, and online payment is possible from 14 years of age or older.
– It is not a credit card, so installment payment is not possible.
⑤ Payment limit is up to 500,000 won per day and 2 million won per month
The TOSS Youth Card does not have the benefits of the card itself, such as discounts or accumulation, but it can be helpful to develop a habit of checking the balance in real time and checking the payment history since elementary school. (However, if you use it well)
※ I also raise children, but especially children seem to like to do things on their own ^^
● How to use the transportation card
@ Distinguish between payment and transportation functions
The money charged in the Toss Youth Card is required for payment, and to use the ‘transportation function’ with the Youth Card (prepaid transportation), a separate convenience store (CU, E-Mart 24, Storyway) or a transportation card charger in a subway station, Rail Plus Recharge must be done at affiliated merchants with stickers.
In other words, you cannot use public transportation or taxis with Toss Money recharged amount, and you must have a separate balance on your transportation card.
[Note]
When using public transportation, child/juvenile fares are applied according to age, and if the card is lost, the balance of the transportation card cannot be refunded.
■ The following is the issuance procedure.
– You must apply for issuance through your child’s Toss app
– Non-face-to-face issuance through mobile, without visiting the bank
In order to receive the issuance, you must first have a mobile phone in your child’s name, and under the age of 14, the consent of a parent or guardian is required.
Install the TOSS app on the child’s phone instead of the parent’s phone, check as a minor when signing up for membership, and apply at the bottom of the Toss app > ‘All’ tab > ‘Toss Youth Card’
Children under the age of 14 must have the consent of their parents and guardians, so they can apply for a card after going through the parental consent process.
After completing the application for issuance, you can receive a Toss Youth Card (plastic card) by mail within one week. Scan the QR code in the envelope with your child’s mobile phone, and you will be directed to the card registration screen.
@ How to recharge Toss Money?
Toss money can be charged to the child’s card in the Toss app on the parent’s mobile phone, or when the child makes a ‘request for allowance’ (recharge request) to the parent in the child’s Toss app, there is another way to charge it.
As mentioned earlier, the toss payment limit is 500,000 won per day and 2 million won per month, and the amount of toss money that can be held at one time is limited to 500,000 won.
※ Note: The charge amount of the transportation card is separate, so it is not included in the 500,000 won.
■ Here are some things to know
1. Parents can receive credit card income deduction for their child’s youth card usage amount at the time of year-end tax settlement
2. What if I lost it?
First, if it is lost, but it is determined that there is a possibility of finding it, you can pause the Toss Youth Card > ‘Card Management’ in the Toss app. Alternatively, you can apply for self-report through telephone consultation.
▣ Online payment related content
Online payment is possible from the age of 14, and you can register your Toss Youth Card in the ‘BC Paybook App’ in advance, and select ‘KB Kookmin Card’ as the card company selection in the payment window at the time of payment.
To make an online payment with a EUCard, you only need to register once after installing the ‘BC Paybook App (ISP)’
■ Note: Regarding the use of easy payment
Under the age of 14, only ‘Naver Pay’ can be used with parental consent, and those over 14 years of age can register and pay with Naver Pay, Kakao Pay, Smile Pay, and SK Pay.
* Payment method: Payment method > Select ‘Easy payment’ > Select the desired easy payment, then make payment
Previously, it was said that online payment is only available for those over 14 years of age, but even under the age of 14, with parental consent, Naver Pay payment is possible (?)
However, in the case of elementary school students, it would be better to allow only ‘offline’ payments yet.
