How to reserve train tickets

1. Online reservation

You can reserve tickets right away by accessing the “Let’s Korail” website.

You can reserve tickets right away by installing and running the “Korail Talk” app on your smartphone.

3. Reservation method

You can reserve tickets without registering as a member on both the Internet and smartphone.
However, since registering as a member has many advantages, we recommend that you register as a member and then reserve tickets. Set the departure station, arrival station, date, time, number of people, etc., and select the train during that time slot.

Select the desired seat on the selected train and proceed with payment.
Recently, in addition to card payment, various simple payment methods are available, so payment can be made more easily.

Purchase and cancellation of train tickets

1. Purchase of train tickets

Train tickets can be purchased from 07:00 one month before the departure date to 20 minutes before the departure date.
You can purchase them with the Korail Talk app up until just before the train departs.
2. Payment of train tickets

Payment can be made with credit cards, KTX mileage, points, cash account transfer (only available on the website).
3. Issuance of train tickets

Train tickets can be issued as mobile tickets or home tickets only after payment is completed.
4. Return of train tickets

Refunds/cancellations/refunds can be requested up until the departure time listed on the train ticket. Home tickets must be requested on the website, and mobile tickets must be requested on the Korail Talk app. If the departure time has passed, you must apply at the station window.
If you purchased a train ticket through the Korail Talk app, you can apply for a refund within 10 minutes after the train departs if you confirm that you are not currently on the train.
If the arrival time at the destination station listed on the train ticket has passed, you cannot apply for a refund.
If you request a refund for a purchased train ticket, the cancellation fee will be applied differently depending on the time of the refund application.
If you were unable to board the train due to a natural disaster, you can receive a 50% refund of the fare by submitting a certificate proving the reason for not being able to board the train along with the ticket to the station within one year of the boarding date.
If you paid for the train ticket but did not issue it before the train departed, the ticket will be automatically cancelled. However, a 15% fee will be charged in this case.
