[Seoul = Newspim] Reporter Seo Young-wook = CU announced on the 13th that it will rebrand its own ultra-low-cost courier service, CU Kiri Courier, to CU Economical Courier.
CU Economical Delivery is a convenience store delivery service that utilizes CU’s nationwide logistics network to pick up parcels received from CU at the CU store designated by the customer.
It only handles small parcels of 5kg or less and is characterized by a lower price at the expense of a slightly slower delivery period than regular parcel delivery.
CU changed its brand name to CU Economic Courier in order to provide customers with higher delivery quality, reasonable prices, and a service with a familiar image.
CU Economical Delivery’s price for items exceeding 500g but not exceeding 1kg is 2,100 won, making it the cheapest delivery rate in Korea. For the remaining sections, the price is 1,800 won for less than 500g and 2,700 won for more than 1kg, which is half the price of regular delivery.
Along with changing the service name, CU will be holding the industry’s first CU Economical Delivery 2+1 event until the end of next month.
If you make a reservation for CU Economical Delivery on Pocket CU, the CU commerce app, and complete two store applications, one free coupon that can be used regardless of weight will be automatically issued.
Park Hee-jin, head of the service platform team at BGF Retail, said, “As second-hand transactions have become more active in recent years, demand for small parcels is focused on convenience store delivery, and the related market is growing rapidly day by day.”
