According to Paragraph 8 of Article 19 of the 「Mountain District Management Act」
The alternative forest resource creation cost is the amount obtained by multiplying the amount per unit area at the time of imposition by the area of the mountainous area used for conversion or temporary use of mountainous areas, and the amount per unit area is determined and announced by the Commissioner of the Korea Forest Service.
The method for calculating the amount of the alternative forest resource creation cost and the standard for the assessment are as follows.
○ Charged amount = Permission for conversion of mountainous districts/Permission for temporary use of mountainous districts Area × Amount per unit area*
* Amount per unit area = Calculated amount per unit area by production area/region + 10/1,000 of the individually publicly announced land price of the relevant production area
○ Junbo Jeonji: 7,260 won/㎡
○ Conservation production area: 9,430 won/㎡
○ Areas for exclusive use of mountain areas and temporary use restrictions: KRW 14,520/㎡
○ The amount equivalent to 10/1000 of the individually publicly announced land price is limited to a maximum of 7,260 won/㎡.

Alternative forest resource creation costs shall be imposed based on the following areas according to the type of permission for conversion of mountainous districts or permission for temporary use of mountainous districts:
1. In the case of obtaining permission for conversion of a mountainous district under Article 14 of the 「Mountain District Management Act」 or permission for temporary use of a mountainous district under Article 15-2 Paragraph 1 of the Act
☞☞ Area of mountainous districts for which permission for conversion of mountainous districts or temporary use of mountainous districts was granted
2. In case of seeking an administrative disposition in which the permission for conversion of mountainous districts or the permission for temporary use of mountainous districts is subject to or excluded in accordance with other laws
