In connection with this, cases of fraudulent receipt of unemployment benefits that abuse legal procedures have also increased.
Therefore, the Ministry of Employment and Labor will amend the unemployment benefit system from May to ensure the effectiveness of job-seeking benefits.

Recipients receiving unemployment benefit for more than 210 days are called long-term recipients. Unlike general recipients, long-term recipients must search for a job once a week from the 8th to the expiration date.

Those who have received unemployment benefits three or more times in five years from the date of resignation are called repeat recipients. In the case of repeated recipients, starting from the 4th round, they must search for jobs twice a week for 4 weeks.
Those over 60 years of age and disabled recipients can do job-seeking once every 4 weeks as before.
Recognition of job search activities
Starting in May, the part that is recognized as a job search activity will also change.
■ Non-job-seeking activities from the 5th general recipient (X)
■ Non-job-seeking activities from the second round of repeated recipients (X)
In addition, attending language-related academies are no longer recognized as job-seeking activities.
In addition, short-term special lectures provided online and at job centers are recognized as job-seeking activities only up to a total of 3 times during the entire unemployment recognition period. Also, if you repeatedly search for work on the same day, only one case is recognized as a job search activity.
Unemployment benefit for 10 months
It has been known since the beginning of the year that the employment insurance subscription period will be changed from 6 months to 10 months.
However, the above matters are currently under review and implementation has not been decided. The existing 180-day subscription period requirement remains in effect.
False or perfunctory job search activities
Monitoring of job search activities is strengthened. If you do not attend the interview or reject the job offer, you will not be able to receive job-seeking benefits and will be subject to fraudulent receipt. It is dangerous to fake job search activities as the job center monitors job search activities at all times.
